Dr. Brad Edgren’s article on Upper Airway Obstruction was recently published in Orthodontic Practice, UK. The article illustrated the problems associated with upper airway obstructions in the growing, orthodontic patient. When growth is not taken into account, an orthodontic case treated to proper balance at age 12 can become a failed result at maturity due to abnormal craniofacial growth, which can be directly associated with UAO. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment is the key to helping patients with UAO.
